Happy Colors

Hello dear friends... some of you may have already noticed that I am crazy for paper flowers. I am really addicted to flower making these days. It makes me happy so I keep picking new flower related projects....today I am showing the wreath I made few days back. I call it my Happy Wreath...why? because it remind me of lovely spring days in this cold November. With lovely red flowers and cute butterflies it look very refreshing. I tried to capture the project with pictures....have a look...

Base of the wreath is made with dry fallen branches from my front yard....gathered and taped with the green floral tape.

Flowers are made with the party streamer using the same method I used here.

Cute birdies out of cardboard waste...it already had a lovely blue color on the other side...I just cut the shape and little drawing with black sharpie.

Recycle Craft

Recycle Time!!...It's really very satisfying to create something beautiful out of waste....that what my this week project is all about. Last weekend I made these two lovely pieces out of empty wine bottle and a rice sack. I simply cut and glued the sack to the bottle and made some decorative design on top with some ribbon and string leftover. I got some slender branches from outside and glued paper flowers to it...its all done without spending anything..... I have some more recycling ideas coming up soon...but for now take a look at these pretty pieces......

Close view of the designs..

Hope you like it. Have a great weekend everyone.

Paper Roses

Lovely roses....right ! I made them this diwali using party streamers. This is such an amazing result from simple party streamer. I saw some crepe paper flower tutorial in You Tube. I had some party streamer handy so I gave it a try.....I couldn't stop after one as you can see in the picture.... then I tried the same thing with the paper towel and it looked lovely too. Here is the link to the tutorial. There are many other good tutorial in You Tube. Take a look at these beauties :)

This is a paper towel rose....I colored a sheet first ...then cut the strips after it dried....folded it in shape....

Have a happy weekend everyone..

Happy Navratri

Hello dear friends.....wish you all a very Happy Navratri. Festival season has already started with Maa's arrival. The air of joy and energy comes with the festival of Navratri, the nine days of festivities culminates with the celebration of Vijayadashmi. Festival brings a kind of energy and freshness to mundane life. It is a time to celebrate goodness and peace.

Celebration time also means cleaning and decking up your abode and making yummy sweets and loads of food. This festival season, I am going to share some colourful crafty ideas here in my blog...hope you find them interesting. Here I am sharing some pictures of Maa Durga which I made using home made Salt Dough and painted it with the acrylic colour. Salt dough is made using equal amount of flour and salt. After making dough, you can make any figure and put it into oven for 1-4 hours depending on the thickness of the figure. After it cools down you can colour it. It is a fun project to do it with kids. For detailed instructions, here is the link.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Aren't these roses gorgeous....Their delicate beauty is appealing... isn't it? Would you believe me if I tell you that these are not.... REAL.!!

Yep these are not real roses...I made them with coffee filter and coloured them with water colour. Leaves are real... from a outdoor green plant( I don't know the name). I thought it would add some charm to these delicate roses.

How I made them? I found this amazing tutorial from Martha Stewart. Here is the link.

So I hope you like it....I am off to make some more...enjoy the beauty or make some if you like.....their freshness will stay forever.

Have a great weekend dear all.

Back to Blogging

Greetings to all my friends...I am back to my artsy & crafty world after a long pause. I am happy to tell you that the move went well and now I am nesting in my new abode comfortably. Though there are few things still to take care of... but I am taking things one at a time. Today, I decided to start my blogging again... so here I am writing this post while enjoying the fresh morning sun.

This summer flew by so quickly.. and with this move to a new place, I hardly noticed anything. Now September is half way through already..... soon autumn leaves will be covering the trees and nature will be in a total new colour. This summer, I took up my embroidery project. When I started it, I had no idea how I am going to finish this. But little by little miss sunshine fleece came into shape.... I am so glad to finished it on time. My design inspiration came from Mexican embroidered dresses that I saw here. I love the array of colours and floral compositions in the Mexican embroidery... I am planning to make one more piece soon ....Hope you like my this attempt..

I draw floral pattern on plain fleece with pen..

After embroidering the pattern I added some pompoms to make it look more fun.

Have a great weekend and see you next week.
