Puffy Paint DIY

Hello Friends.... Hope you are enjoying your day!  

Well, Today I am sharing this beautiful, festive looking DIY with you.  As festival season of Navratri and Diwali is coming soon I am going to post some festival décor ideas here on my blog. For this project, I have used a round baking tray from dollar tree but any metal plate will work. the real magic of this project is puffy paint.

This is real simple, all you have to do is choose any mehandi design or any other decorative pattern  you like and start this project. You can draw the pattern with pencil or dry erase marker on the plate and use puffy paint on the design . Once you are done with covering the design with  puffy paint, let it dry for couple of days.  

This will look really beautiful with the diyas on the plate. I will be making more of these for gift giving. It will be a nice, colorful gift for Diwali.

Hello Friends...hope all is well at your end. Life at my side is getting more and more busy as the school year is close to ending. But I finally, sit down today to write this first post for May. I finished this painting couple of days ago. Beauty of cherry blossom and dogwood really captured my attention. I decided to paint it on canvas using acrylic color. Easy Crafting

 hello friends...so spring has finally arrived but its really unspring like here. I just came back after dropping my son to school and its Sooo cold outside. I am really waiting for mild sunny weather,  hope it will bless us soon. Time is really flying fast I don't know where my days are going. March is going to end in five days, it went so swiftly. I am so looking forward to this Summer...I am going to India for my summer vacation YIPEE. I am going to see my parents after three years.I am really excited about it... Ok now, coming back to the project now that I am sharing today. These are real easy one, this brown shredded paper came in the box as a protection cover with our online order. I really like the color so I turned it into a small wreath like thing...now it hangs on my closet door..I am brushing my crocheting skill these days (will share my new crochet project in next post) so I ended up adding crochet flower to it.

This cute letter monogram made by my daughter....it is easy to make and is good fun project with kids. She is used beads and puffy paint to decorate. I painted the base with light blue acrylic paint with dark blue shading in between. Hope you will like these two easy peasy project. Have a good day!

Painted Wooden Frames

 Hello Friends...looks like spring is here in North Carolina. We are blessed with lovely sunshine today.Clear sky, bright sunlight and warm 70 degree day,a perfect start for this week.Yesterday, while cleaning my closet, I found these wooden frames I got some time ago for my kids to paint. In fact, my son even doodled one of them with  the markers. But we never finished it. I thought why not paint them. I painted the base with the dark colors, added little black paint in red and green.I decided to paint white flowers as it is a good contrast to all. It was looking little plain after I finished the designs so added polka dots to it. I guess, they look nice together. Let me know what do you think!

A colorful painting

Hello dear friends ...just decided to make a quick post for this week.  I can't believe that May is here...time is flying real quick. Four months of this year gone already! Weather is turning little more warmer now... I enjoyed my time today making bubbles with my little one, while miss sunshine was at school. I love summer...its bright days and lazy afternoon and lots of fresh lemonade. Enough said about summer ..... I am sharing this project today that I finished a while ago. I love the bright array of colors used here. This work inspired by the Gujarat embroidery work...I tried painting  the design  because that kind of embroidery definitely  requires patience, hard work and time. I decided to paint it and added some sequins later. I love to add some mirror on it but I don't have any so I used sequin as an alternative. Its adding lot of color to my neutral colored wall....here are some clicks...tell me what you think...

Glass Painting

So he did it again …he climbed up on the chair… used his tiny hands and my fragile picture frame is gone and all I am left with... a glass sheet. Yeah… my little 16 month old has found his new love …climbing and jumping… on tables, chairs, sofa and bed. Toys have lost their charm in his eyes and and his mission is to get those thing that his mommy keeps far away from his tiny hands :D… Mommies out there you know what I am talking about.

It was a fine morning and I was so much into clean the house mode. I moved the chair to the side and did the vacuum and there he was watching me with a grin as if saying “You don’t know what you are doing mommy dear” and that same moment my mind instructed me to move the chair from that spot and put it somewhere else but I did not listen and His Highness got his chance.

Then followed … Thank God nothing bad happened to him, next came the guilt that I should have paid attention and the Gyan by hubby dear “Everything Happens for a Reason… may be you can do something with it for your blog”

Hmm…well not a bad idea I thought ... got some glass paint still left from my last India trip. I opened the box… checked the colors, they were fine but the black liner was dried up. So it clicked to me why not use permanent marker to draw and I was all set for this week project. After drawing and coloring all I can say “All’s Well That Ends Well” …Scroll down and take a look.

Colourful Threads

You must be wondering why I put this picture to start this post....well this is what happened, it was a gloomy week to start with… gray sky and was raining every now and then. Just to put things in perspective, we have not seen sun from last couple of days...


So to kill the boredom, I made a cup of hot ginger tea and started my new project with lovely colourful threads. They were sitting in my embroidery kit from quite some time, so I thought its time to use them and let’s do some needle work…nah!!! my mind said instantly.... too much work...... well how about gluing the threads to the paper that doesn't sound like a lot of work. Well there is no harm in trying!!! Go on... do it...my mind encouraged . So I picked up the yellow card stock paper in memory of bright sun and drew a picture of pretty roses with leaves and started my work.....to see what happened after that… simply scroll down!!!

I glue the thread to the paper little by little and my first red rose is ready...

So two flowers are done and one more to go....

Now its time to do the leaves....

TA-DA!!! picture is ready to be framed:-)

There is one more way to do it, simply stick the threads on a scotch tape.

So after making couple of circle shapes with threads, I glued it on a card stock and made this gift card holder.
